Jack in the Box Crisis Presentation

This team presentation was part of my Crisis Communication Management class and involved analyzing the 1993 E. coli outbreak that was linked to 73 Jack in the Box locations. The crisis sickened more than 700 people in four states, led to 171 hospitalizations and resulted in four deaths.

As part of the project, we conducted in-depth research of the company, identified key stakeholders, examined media coverage surrounding the chain of events and evaluated the impact the crisis had on the restaurant’s reputation. We also assessed what Jack in the Box did effectively and provided alternative solutions for how the company could have managed the crisis more effectively.
